This texto , in its second edition, addresses the history of the construction process of the most important building in the world: the cathedral of "La Puebla de los {acute}Angeles". The study begins with the foundation of the city in 1531 and with the construction of the first cathedral that was called "La Vieja" (The Old one). Up next, the author thoroughly dissected the construction process of the "Nueva Catedral" (New Cathedral), that first started in 1575 by the hand of the main master Francisco Becerra. A process that developed for more than two centuries, until the neoclassical remodeling carried out by José Manzo y Jaramillo in the early 19th century. Special emphasis has been placed on explaining in detail the different projects and traces that the construction had over time, showing in detail, both those that were carried out, as those that remained in hypothesis and that would have made this unique building even more unique. Plans. elevations and 3D renderings (property of the author), carried out in an exhaustive field work, from the measurements taken on the construction itself, are presented accompanying the texto . These characteristics of architectural and planimetric order, together with the deep documentary research in various Mexican and Spanish archives, make up an updated and fundamental texto for the artistic and constructive historiography of a building "unique in universal architecture".
