Under UNESCO´s strategy for greater involvement by its education sector in combating the spread of HIv and AIDS, the Paris-based IIEP launced, in conjunction with the UNESCO International Institute for Capacity Building in Africa three studies to analyze the responses of teacher-training colleges to HIV and AIDS in Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia. The studies explored how ministries of edcation and teacher-training colleges and institutions have developed (or not) policy and programmatic interventions in response to HIV and AIDS.
